Yes. The Wauwatosa Virtual Academy (WVA) is a program offered by the Wauwatosa School District and online learning leader Connections Education. WVA has partnered with Connections Education, a division of the global education leader, Pearson, which has delivered successful virtual school instruction to hundreds of thousands of students in the last decade. Connections Education is accredited by AdvancED, an organization representing 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries. In addition, many Connections Education core high school courses are pre-approved for gaining eligibility through the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Because all of our courses are online, your class schedule is flexible; class begins when you login online and ends when you log out. Our online curriculum is rigorous, engaging, and self-paced. All of our courses are backed by our highly qualified staff of Wisconsin-certified teachers who are available via WebMail. Students, teachers, and family members can communicate easily through our own secure email system.

Students take a minimum of 10 courses (5 in the fall, 5 in the spring).

Yes, students must be age 20 or younger. Some other restrictions may apply.

Yes, Wauwatosa Virtual Academy is a public school and adheres to the requirements set forth in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, as well as Wisconsin Statute and Rule.

Your teacher for each course is a Wisconsin state-certified teacher who has experience teaching online courses.
